The STRAIGHTFORWARD New Finnish Design event launches collaboration between Aalto University and Parsons, The New School of Design. Students of Aalto University will present their STRAIGHTFORWARD Statements in the event.
What is a Straightforward Design Statement?
It is a rapid, yet a strong and personal thought. One well argued sentence or a few of them, explaining each student’s view on the relations and complexities of design and society. It is also an important notion that reflects human well-being and a potential approach to exploring systemic problems related to design.
“Design should really find itself! The current idea of design is lost in translation between the market and the man!” – Juha Vaurio
“Could good design be profitable?” – Markku Salimäki
“Success does not happen by accident, it happens by design” – Gordon Brown
“Now, how do we make this spaceship work?” – Buckminster Fuller
“Design – Whatever” – Kati Reijonen
