Timo Niskanen studied industrial design at the Aalto University School of Art and Design and is currently working as freelance designer, being especially interested in design related to everyday life. Before founding his own company in 2009, he worked as a designer in a Finnish lighting company. He describes his design philosophy: “We are surrounded with complicated and unnecessary things. I think a good product feels natural – it only bears the essential. A good designer creates an experience out of something simple and functional. An experience that is meaningful.”
LOOP
Loop is a minimalist LED table lamp. It is designed to endure through time through its pure design language intended to counter constantly changing fashions and trends, as well the use of LEDs as a light source. The lamp prototype is manufactured by bending a machined piece of solid surface material around a mold.
