Teija Losoi

Teija Losoi is a young Finnish designer currently working in the field of architecture and design alongside finishing her master’s studies in the program of spatial design. Losoi graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Art and Design Helsinki (now part of Aalto University) in 2007. The foundation of Losoi’s design philosophy lies in imaginative simplicity. This is spiced up by her own unique way of perceiving her surroundings, her knowledge, her ignorance, her interests, and her emotions – in short, her life.

SKIN

Ordinary tablecloths are large and clumsy, and often hide a table’s form. Nevertheless, a tablecloth can also hide an old, ugly or inappropriate table inside its fabric. The purpose of designing Skin was thus to design a tablecloth that can cover a table but still show its shape. Skin fits onto the table’s form and wraps it, enveloping it. Skin’s stretchable fabric complies with many different sizes of tables, making it also easy to dress and undress. The attached strings help in adjusting the tightness of the tablecloth. The tablecloth is available in both black and white.
